Community Areas vs. Private Homestead Lots ;
Most of our guidelines pertain to the community areas at Pura Fruta, where we house renters, volunteers,
and sometimes long-term community members.
Private homestead lots are not subject to the same guidelines. However, we encourage property owners to follow these "supportive practices" on their private lots as well. Read on for details.
Community Area Lifestyle Guidelines
Life at Pura Fruta is about creating a supportive environment.
Our community spaces are therefore created for certain purposes
where certain conditions are cultivated.
Peaceful Practice Platform and surrounding area
Peaceful area for silent practice and conscious workshop space.
Please avoid heated unconscious discussion, unnecessary conversation and keep food free.
Main Community Kitchen
Space to learn and practice conscious consumption of a Primarily raw, plant-based diet:
This can be many variations of frugivore/ raw vegan / fruitarian / fruit based / frugivore/ MDHS / Ehret / high-raw WFPB .
We do not require any specific diet, though we do have some guidelines.
We ask you to avoid stimulating/addictive foods as much as possible.
Please avoid the following:
Baked bread, grains, meat, fish, cheese, other dairy products, food fried in oil, ultra-processed foods.
Heated discussion and arguments
Education Kitchen
This will be part of our education centre as it gets built.
A space to learn and practice conscious cooking and eating.
Please consume food prepared here in the seating provided here, in your private platform, or anywhere away from other community spaces.
Please avoid heated discussion and arguments.
Meeting space
A space for community meetings and classes, personal discussions and conversation.
Please avoid heated arguments.
Conflict and Anger Management space
This space is open to all, it is outside of community guidelines.
A dedicated space where we recommend that all conflicts and triggering issues can be freely discussed,
preferably with a mediator.
Here is a great place to scream and let anger out as it is built with sound absorbency away
from other community spaces.
Personal hygiene
Conscious awareness exists in all aspects of life in Pura Fruta. Consideration of personal hygiene around others is part of a conscious co-existence, this includes your physical and emotional hygiene.
When naked in community spaces please bring a personal item of cloth to sit on
and act considerately to those around around you.
Shivambu practitioners are requested to do their practice with respect for those around them and their living space.
If you are unable to maintain a clean appearance and take care of yourself, we may ask you to leave community spaces.
Eating disorders: If you have an eating disorder and reach an extremely low BMI, we may hold an intervention on your behalf and require you to take concrete steps to regain your health. However, we do not have the facilities or expertise to be an ED recovery center, so if it is determined that we cannot help you, we may simply need to help you to leave to somewhere that can.
Substance use
Cacao: Please enjoy cacao responsibly. It is powerful!
Coffee: We advise conscious consumption.
Plant-based spiritual experiences such as ayahuasca, san pedro, including tobacco and marijuana etc... may occur here under supervision, and only very occasionally.
Regular smoking of tobacco; please take a walk away from site and consider your specific hygiene practices before reentering community spaces.
Marijuana; we do not welcome the smoking or use of marijuana outside of occasional ceremonial practices.
We request to keep alcohol and other hard drugs such as cocaine, amphetamines, heroin, etc.
out of Pura Fruta land.
Private Homestead Lot Diet/Lifestyle Guidelines
Property owners (and their guests) living in a private homestead lot at PuraFruta have more freedom, as we respect the autonomy of private land owners. However, we still ask you to respect the core values and vision of PuraFruta as you live your life. For the sake of the children and those in need of your support if needed, so we recommend you to follow the same guidelines as the community areas.
When you enter the community areas, you will be required to abide by the aforementioned guidelines there.
